Chris Pain
Head of Mortgage Advice | FPC 123, CeMap

I have been involved in the residential property market for over 30 years from my humble beginnings as a Trainee Sales Negotiator in Esher. I thoroughly enjoyed my time within the Estate Agency market and worked my way up to a managerial role within 5 years.

Finding mathematics easy as a child, the draw of financial services proved too strong to resist and I moved over to the mortgage market in 1987. I spent 6 years working for a bank involved in residential / commercial lending before joining Curchods Mortgage Services in 1994. I now run the department and still thoroughly enjoy working with clients to advise them on their affairs, some of whom I have worked with since joining the company.

John Morgan
Sales Manager |

Having started in Estate Agency back in 1998, I moved across to mortgages services in 2002 and have not looked back! Having always worked alongside Estate Agents I have a vast range of knowledge and experience in the housing market, which I use to my advantage in ensuring that our clients’ experience in dealing with Curchods Mortgage Services is a smooth and efficient process.

Assisting in driving the business forward whilst keeping the client at the centre of what we do is an exciting and challenging role which provides me with great satisfaction.

Tim Bryden
Senior Mortgage Advisor | FPC, CeMap

I am a fully qualified mortgage advisor that specialises in all aspects of the house buying process. Having initially worked as an estate agent within Curchods, I am now in my 25th year within the mortgage side of the business.

With many years experience of both selling and financing property, I feel I am in the ideal position to advise and guide my clients through the ever-changing world of securing a property.

Mike Dean
Senior Mortgage Advisor | FPC 2,3. CeMap

I have been in the Financial Services industry for over 23 years. Having started within Banking I then moved into management in Building Societies before I became a mortgage broker in 2004 which I thoroughly enjoy. I have not looked back since and am passionate about my work, providing great service to help my clients and advising them on their mortgage and protection requirements.

Many of my clients have used me for a number of years and also refer friends and family for me to help too which is a great testament to the advice and service I provide.

Tony Sexstone
Senior Mortgage Advisor | CeMap

Currently living in Walton-on-Thames and having worked within the estate agency business since 2001 giving both mortgage and protection advice, I feel that I am very well placed to ensure that my clients not only get the best possible service throughout the sales process but become a client for life.

Since joining Curchods Mortgage Services, the dedicated admin team has afforded me more time to be in the strongest ever position to meet the needs of my clients. I am delighted to say that after many years in this sector, I still enjoy continuous referrals and recommendations which I believe to be the ultimate sign of a job well done!

Simon Labrow
Senior Mortgage Advisor | FPC, CeMap

I have been advising on mortgages since 1985 when I started my career in financial services with Legal & General. Mortgages have become far more complicated to arrange in recent years so many of my clients really appreciate my specialist advice using my considerable experience.

I have an excellent knowledge of tax and assist clients to find the most efficient way to complete their property transaction.

Martin Worland
Senior Mortgage Advisor | FPC, CeMap

I have worked in the Financial Services Industry since 1988, initially advising on all aspects of financial planning including Mortgages, Pensions, Savings, Investments, Family protection and Tax planning.  However, now I have decided to focus on mortgage and protection advice and no longer advise on these other areas.

Having always enjoyed the challenges of the mortgage market, I have specialised in Mortgages since 2001. Most of this time has been working with the Lords Estate Agents group in the Kingston upon Thames area, as Director of Lords Private Finance, and also included a period working as the residential mortgage specialist for a major Accountancy firm in the City. The connection with the Lords group lead to joining Curchods Mortgage Services in 2014, following the acquisition of Lords Estate Agents by Curchods.

Chris Gomez
Mortgage Advisor | CeMap

I have been working in the property industry now for over 5 years and began my career as a negotiator based in Ewell. Having progressed through to the position of Assistant Manager, my experience in Estate Agency has given me a vast knowledge of the house buying process which I use to help my clients dealing with offers, understanding the legal process and the mortgage journey itself.

After successfully passing my CeMAP examinations earlier this year, I decided to make the switch to mortgage services and joined the team here at Curchods Mortgage Services. I felt the combination of the experience and reputation of the company paired with the support of a strong administration team were the perfect building blocks to progress my chosen career.

Matthew Johnson
Mortgage Advisor |

My career in property spans 12 years and during this time I have worked for leading estate agents and developed my own company selling and letting property in Surrey and South London. I am a fully qualified mortgage and protection advisor and my aim is to provide my clients with the best possible advice bespoke to their individual needs. I had the opportunity to join Curchods Mortgage Services in 2019 and jumped at the chance, knowing their reputation for professionalism and standing in the industry as a market leader.

Karley Howe
Protection Consultant

With over 15 years’ experience within the Financial Services sector, having previously specialised in Equity Release & Annuities, I saw joining Curchods Mortgage Services as the perfect opportunity to broaden my knowledge within the Protection sector.

With my previous roles having been direct consumer facing as well as working for lenders and providers, I feel this means I am able to offer a high level of customer service along with enabling me to utilise my knowledge by assisting in developing Curchods Mortgage Services protection support.

Geraldine McCluskey

Originally from Donaghmore in Ireland I started my career in the IT sector. Transferring to London I enjoyed a successful career in IT training management, counting the Privy Council’s office and the House of Commons amongst my clients, before moving onto management training in the finance sector.

Always looking for a new challenge and to broaden my horizons, I joined Curchods Mortgage Services, keen to develop in new fields. Away from work I am a keen skier and cook, married to Paul who is in teaching and have two daughters at university.

Gemma Hughes

After 11 years of nannying many lovely children, I decided to look for a new and exciting challenge. This led to my career change into Financial Services. My first role was within the Administration team at a sub-prime lender, where I began to increase my knowledge about Mortgages and add to my skill set. The opportunity arose to work at Curchods Mortgage Services and with my desire to learn and expand my knowledge I seized the opportunity.

Lauren Thomas

Having previously worked for the past two years in financial services as a case manager for a broker firm specializing in self-employed and contractor clients, my knowledge in this area provides me with an increased understanding of the additional needs and requirements of not only the lenders in this space but also, and more importantly, our client’s. Joining the team at Curchods Mortgage Services has provided me with the opportunity to expand my knowledge within the financial sector and also expand my understanding of the property industry.

Jack Doherty
Mortgage and Protection Support

After completing my level 3 BTEC Diploma at Dorking Wanderers Academy, I decided that I wanted to start a career in Financial Service. The apprenticeship scheme that Curchods Mortgage Services offer provided me with the perfect opportunity to experience the job first hand and gain an industry qualification, all whilst drawing on the knowledge and experience of the team.
